The kailasa temple is one of the largest Indian rock-cut ancient Hindu Temples located in Ellora Caves,Maharashtra,India.Its affiliation is Hinduism.
According to the Archeological Survey Of India,it took 200 years and 10 generationsto complete the work of this temple.

The Temple is Megalith -curved out from a single rock.It is considered as one of the most remarkable Cave temples in the World because of its size ,architecture and sculptural treatment .
The Kailasa temple(cave 16) is one of the 34 cave temples and monasteries known collectively as Ellora caves.The archtecture of pallava and chalukya style.
It could have been constructed by the Vertical Excavation method. Carvers started at the top of the Rock and excavated Downwards.
The Temple was planned and its construction started under the Rashtrakuta king Dantidurga but its major work was done during the reign of Krishna 1(r.756-773 CE).
